Earlier this week, I had a phone call with a 28-year-old traveling, blogging, adventure-loving lady who is determined to make her life as rich with new experiences as possible. Having been in four relationships thus far (the last of which was three years ago), she has since been focused on figuring out what she wants for herself before bringing someone else into the picture.

Alone, Not Lonely

Party of one?

It might be the rebel in me–along with a hefty dose of introversion–but I get a certain satisfaction from doing things without company. These lone ventures have ranged from minor feats (seeing a movie alone, attending a concert by myself) to grander excursions (taking a solo trip throughout Italy for two months). It’s freeing, not having to depend on others’ availability in order to do the things that I want to do.

The Journey Begins

This is a blog about singleness.

This is a blog about singleness, but let me start with a shocking disclaimer: I am not looking to stay single forever. Nor am I suggesting that people should. What I am trying to do here is present singleness as a bursting-with-potential adventure that can be genuinely enjoyed. It’s not an embarrassing affliction, and in no way should it stop you from living life boldly.
