I'm Alexa. I'm a white nonbinary settler of European descent and a dance artist, living on the unceded and illegally occupied territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, and səl̓ílwətaʔɬ peoples. In Every Single Thing, I play Alexa, one of the hosts. I'm also the co-creator of the project. In this photo I am wearing a bright blue shirt with a red collar, small silver hoops in my ears, and no makeup. My short brown hair is parted in the middle with some hair falling onto my forehead. My expression is smiling and slightly concerned, while I think of something I’m supposed to be doing but am not. My vibe and style are that of a scattered, slightly unhinged but earnest game show host.
I'm Alysha Seriani and I am a settler living and creating on the ancestral lands of the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ and Skwxwú7mesh sníchim-speaking peoples (also known as Vancouver, Canada). I'm a white-bodied queer dyke media artist and have a big crush on everyone contributing to Every Single Thing. In this photo of me, I'm holding and looking down at the monitor of a video camcorder and wearing big over-ear headphones and a homemade polkadot cotton face mask. I have shoulder-length flat brown hair and am wearing a white golf tee with a black chest utility pack labelled 'Cam A' on top, black shorts with a leather belt and thigh harnesses, and a ball cap clipped to my belt loop with a carabiner. Throughout this project, I operated cameras and co-created the video episodes with Erika + Alexa.
My name is Aryo Khakpour. I am a cis-male multidisciplinary performer, director and dramaturg. I was born and raised in Tehran; I’m tall and thin in my late 30s. I cofounded The Biting School with my brother. I make performances and films that investigate dynamics of power, surrealism, and different forms of adaptation. In Every Single Thing, I play a game player. In this photo, I have a curly black beard and black hair. I’m standing at a microphone wearing light blue above-knee shorts with black sport shoes (no socks). Gently visible are my attractive legs and leg hair. I’m also wearing a button up long-sleeve brick brown linen shirt draping casually over the shorts. Six of the buttons are undone to expose an additionally attractive moderately hairy chest. My hands are behind my back and my expression is of intelligence and innocent distrust in what I’m hearing from my opponent (who is off screen).
My name is Bynh. I move through the world as a queer person of Vietnamese and Chinese descent, a first generation settler by refugee parents on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, and səl̓ílwətaʔɬ peoples. Here I play Bynh, a game show contestant. In this photo, my hair is shaped like a bowl over my head and my torso leans forward toward a microphone. It appears that I’m smiling. My shorts are yellow. My hands, just in front of my diaphragm, hold a doweling with a cup noodle attached to the end of it. My T-shirt is white. I’m staring forwards into the eyes of another contestant who is not pictured. My vest is blue.
I’m Erika, I’m a cis-gendered woman of mixed descent (settlers from Japan, Italy, Ukraine and Britain, and a great grandmother from the Na-cho Nyak Dun Nation), living on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, and səl̓ílwətaʔɬ peoples. I am quietly navigating what it means to describe and introduce myself. I am an interdisciplinary artist and co-creator of this project. In Every Single Thing, I play a version myself and co-host of the game show. In this image, I am wearing a short 70’s terry cloth striped robe, tacky costume jewelry earrings and slide on heeled sandals. My dark brown hair is tied into a small high bun, I have short cropped bangs and am wearing a lot of makeup. I am standing in front of the set of EST, a colourful scoreboard and sequin gold curtain. I have one hand on my hip, and am leaning against a small plinth with a general posture of impatience. My vibe and aesthetic is behind the scenes glamor and mild disinterest. I'm Francesca, and in this show I play an exaggerated version of my real-life self, best friend and fangirl of hosts/creators Alexa and Erika. I'm a cis-gendered white woman in my late 20s, and in this photo I have my long dark hair in low pigtails, I'm wearing tacky bright orange lipstick, and my outfit is a slightly formal blue floral print dress, with high white sport socks and turquoise running shoes. I'm speaking eagerly into the microphone, eyebrows raised as I try too hard to impress. My hands are blurry because I am moving them so fast in my agitation. I am Kate Franklin, a dance artist living on the unceded territories of the xwməθkwəy̓ əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, and səl̓ílwətaʔɬ peoples. In Every Single Thing, I play Priscilla, an independently wealthy white woman in her early forties, who is involved in a variety of strange projects in lieu of a job. In this photo, I am in the middle of being interviewed by Alexa, one of the hosts of the game. I am gesturing with my right hand as I answer Alexa's question. I have a focused expression on my face, but my overall look is very fun. I have just-past-shoulder-length wavy, asymmetrical brown hair with a nice grey streak, blue eyes and bright red lips. I am wearing a sleeveless dress that has a wild, 60's-inspired yellow, green and white print
I'm Sarah Wong and I'm a choreographer and writer. I am a queer, second-generation Chinese-Canadian living on the unceded and ancestral territories of the xwməθkwəy̓ əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, and səl̓ílwətaʔɬ Nations. In Every Single Thing, I play Sarah, the oldest contestant in the game. Despite my age, I appear like a woman in her 20s. In this photo, I am wearing a medium blue t-shirt with an image of a pie on the front, tucked into light wash denim shorts. My black hair is cut into a short bob with short front bangs, making my head appear like a mushroom cap. I stand in front of a microphone that is quite tall for my stature and smile so wide with my teeth that my eyes close. My vibe and style are that of a nerdy and eager young girl.
S F Ho is an artist, writer, and facilitator. Their parents immigrated to Turtle Island from Hong Kong in the 1970s and they have been living as an uninvited guest on the unceded territories of the xwməθkwəy̓ əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, and səl̓ílwətaʔɬ peoples for the past eleven years. In Every Single Thing, I play Uncle Stacey, one of the game players. In this photo I am wearing a brightly patterned button-up with a white undershirt underneath, black pleather short shorts, leather scarf, silver running shoes, and round glasses. My hair is closely cropped into a buzz cut. My expression is bossy and I have my hands on my hips. My vibe and style are that of a friendly but fumbling macho man. Sasha J. Langford makes sounds, writings, and interdisciplinary performance works. She resides as a settler of Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry on the occupied xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, and səl̓ílwətaʔɬ territories known as "Vancouver." In Every Single Thing, Sasha portrays DJ "Heartbreak" Harvey, the soundman who has also worked part-time as an event DJ since 1982. In this photo Harvey is wearing his characteristic bucket hat, sunglasses, and vibrant red crushed velvet jacket. In backlit lighting, he is sitting at the sound booth with his sampler and mixer in front of him, paying close attention to the game show action as it unfolds. Things
I am Jaewoo Kang, a queer, first-generation immigrant from Korea and I am a cis-male multidisciplinary artist with a focus on film and animation. In Every Single Thing, I was a tech assistant, helping Alysha Seriani with audio recording, as well as taking behind the scene photos. In this photo, I am wearing light, natural makeup with no wig and pearl headpins. The clothes I'm wearing are a sequin romper I got from a fast-fashion brand and a fishnet stocking from a dollar store. I ripped the fishnet stocking myself because I used it for the Courtney Act costume for the Halloween party the year before. It's hard to admit but I am wearing New Balance sneakers which are not my normal footwear. I had to wear comfortable shoes to protect my body from the hard cement floor but I did bring backup shoes, gold strappy sandals with 4-inch heels. In this moment, I am sitting in a chair, taking a break. My name is Zahra Shahab and I am a dancer and choreographer living as an uninvited guest on the unceded territories of the xwməθkwəy̓ əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, and səl̓ílwətaʔɬ peoples for the past six years. I am mixed race Arab/Yemeni/English female presenting woman in her early 30s with brown skin and long black hair. I am a game player in Every Single Thing. In this photo I am standing by a microphone stand and smiling mischievously towards the mic as though I just lost the game but have a secret plan to bend the rules. I am wearing a light grey velvet short skirt, a blue, white, and yellow button up shirt, white shoes and sneakers. My hands are behind my back and I am holding a prop that is apart of the game, a birthday card attached to a stick.
Mona fani is a persian-canadian multi-media artist based on unceded lands belonging to the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), səl̓ilwətaɁɬ (Tsleil-waututh), and sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) First Nations; also known as vancouver, bc. She likes sitting behind her computer, creating pixels and making them move. The photo is a medium close-up of myself – winking and smiling at the camera, wearing a navy blue sweater. In the background is a hanging pot of pink flowers, in front of a house.
I'm Brynn McNab, and I designed this website. I am working on my PhD in Mathematics and Philosophy, but I sometimes work with artists as a writer, curator, and programmer. I chose a photograph of me in the same space that Every Single Thing was filmed. I am in a dark room, with the word "reality" projected over and over again on the wall behind me, creating a wallpaper-like pattern. I am a silhouette in front of the text. I'm Pietro Sammarco. I'm a sound producer with an unusual variety of skills that give depth to the works of filmmakers, podcasters, musical groups, comedy groups, and visual artists. In this photo, I am wearing a green sweater and black pants stands on the edge of a river bank that is covered in green moss. I hold a long boom pole with a microphone on the end of it at a downward angle. The microphone is pointing at a water rapid. The water is a dark blue green and looks like broken glass. I listen on headphones, and is looking down at a black bag which has an audio recorder in it. On the right edge of the image are some small bushes. I’m Rhye, a mid 30’s, invert/monster, settler of mostly Celtic descent, living on the unceded, lands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, and səl̓ílwətaʔɬ peoples. I move slowly, love slowly, and transform quickly and invisibly. In Every Single Thing I play Larry, the game show assistant and secret lover of host, Alexa. In this photo I am wearing a bright red baseball cap, thick bright red suspenders pulling up my bright red Calvin Klein undies and exposing the outskirts of my pubes. I have a GoPro fastened to my bare chest with a thick black strap. I’m wearing bright red socks pulled up my ankle exposing my hairy legs. My face is painted white and I have a noticeably painted on black dirt stache. I’m wiping down a microphone stand with a white wet wipe. My mouth is slightly downturned expressing concern and determination. My vibe is diligent unpaid intern, meets creepy Magic Mike try-outs. My name is Andrea. I'm a dance artist and emerging audio describer living on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, and səl̓ílwətaʔɬ nations. I was a contestant on Every Single Thing, and I also created the audio description. I'm a white woman in my early 30s. In the photo, I'm wearing a loose, low-cut royal blue tank top, and contrasting bright yellow pants. I'm at the mic, and I look tense. My dark hair is held out of my face by a large barrette, revealing blue eyes intensely focused on my opponent, who stands out of frame. A pace or two in front of my firmly-planted bare feet, a bicycle seat, my "thing" for the day, balances upside down on the concrete. Home
