Single All the Way: The Highs and Lows of the Holidays

Is it even Christmas without Hallmark movies? (Answer: Yes. Stop making them.)

I love the holiday season: the music, the festive decorations, the gift exchanges–pretty much everything. And, despite the fact that this will be my 26th consecutive Christmas as a single, I’m just as excited for it as ever.

With that being said, it’s important to talk about the ups and downs of being single during the holidays. I may not be the wallowing type, but I can acknowledge that it’s not always the most wonderful time of the year for those of us without a “special someone.” That’s not to say you can’t enjoy the holidays unless you’re in a relationship, because that’s ridiculous; however, it’s hard not to feel a little left out when it seems like everyone but you is meeting someone under the mistletoe (if people do indeed still do that). Megan and I share our thoughts on the subject in this sixth episode of the podcast! Come for the eggnog-glass-half-full perspective, and stay for the creepy moment when we both come up with the same name of a hypothetical boyfriend.
