Recommended Reading. And Watching. And Listening.

NOT on our list: Hallmark movies.

I used to read a lot of books. These days, I spend more of my time eyeballing screens than actual pieces of paper, and that’s something I’d like to change.

Change starts now! In this episode of the podcast, Megan and I toss out the names of a few books (as well as a couple of movies and songs–but mostly books) that really resonate with us and are deserving of your attention. No, we didn’t round up a list of the most unromantic literary creations on the planet. We are not averse to love stories, as some single stereotypes might suggest.

The titles that we chose fit the following criteria: They inspire, educate, embolden, or encourage self-improvement in the reader/listener/viewer, regardless of current relationship status. And, if there are romantic elements, they don’t override other important messages in the story. Listen, jot down some titles, and head to the library–you’ve got some reading to do.

*Spoiler alert: I talk about The Secret Life of Walter Mitty in excessive detail. That movie is just too good to mention briefly.

Author: Paige Triola

In May of 2014, Paige stepped out from the perfectly manicured campus of her liberal arts college with a biology degree in hand and no clue what to do with it. So, she decided to do everything. A blog was inevitable.
